Mom, WHY?

So I registered Covin for Kindergarten this week! Very sad, I can't believe how big he is. I am like everyone and hope that he is ready! He really likes to learn. Even things he shouldn't know yet like:

Covin: "Mom, are you speeding, the speed limit sign says 25!" Even though he can't tell how fast I am going, he sure knows when it is wrong.

Covin: "Mom, you just went through a yellow light!"
Me: "I know Covin! Zip it I know how to drive."

Covin: "Mom, can you reach the sky?"
Me: "No."
Covin: "Mom, how high is the sky?"
Me: "Very high you can never reach it."
Covin: "Mom, what if the sky cracks?"
Me: "The sky won't crack."
Covin: "What if the sky falls?"
Me: "It can't fall."
Covin: "How do you know?"
Me: "Because it just can't fall."
Covin: "Well it fell on Chicken Little."
Me: "Well, I guess it did! You do know Chicken Little is pretend, Right??!!!

Covin: "Mom, can you buy me a Super Why cape?"
Me: "Buddy I don't think they make them yet."
Covin: "But I really want one."
Me: "Why?"
Covin: "So I can fly."

These are just this week! He is a mess! That is what I call the boys MESSES!
Covin: "Mom, what is a mess?"
Me: "Hmmm, you and Conner."
Covin: "What does it mean?"
Me: "It means you and Conner are making messes all of the time."
Covin: "Oh, sorry."

I think he is funny, he thinks way to much about things. He is getting so big! He is a pretty good kid, MOST of the time! :) And the latest, he has issues with peeing the bed. So I buy him night-time things so that he doesn't pee in the bed. Anyways, Shaffen decided to tell him if he doesn't pee the bed ever again he will buy him a four wheeler. He will have to have peeless night for 1 month. :) We don't know if he is just lazy or if he really has a problem. Well it has been 2 days without peeing the bed. Apparently, he is just LAZY! And we are going to have to buy a four wheeler! Shaffen better start saving his money! I guess at least he didn't promise him a truck or a new house! Which is another item he is requesting! :)

Trip down memory lane with Shaffen

On Wednesday we took a drive up to Morenci. Shaffen didn't want to just sit at home, so off we went. He lived there when he was growing up part of the time. He drove Covin by his old schools, that are now buildings for PD, we went by his old house. He showed Covin where he played baseball and soccer. Covin likes us to tell him about when we were little.

We drove around the mine, it is pretty neat to look at. Shaffen was surprised at the mountains that are missing now. This is a neat picture at the look out. The boys liked going through the tunnels to get here. Covin is always wanting to go to Mesa so he can go through the tunnel. Now I am sure he will just want to go to Morenci! :)

Then we took them bowling, which they all enjoyed. Lucky for Shaffen the bumper guards were up so he could win!!! :) It was a pretty good day, very windy. There is so much that has changed there over the years with all of the growth. And there are tons of things to site see. It is a cool place. If you are a police officer, teacher, of work for the hospital/urgent care, your rent is only $150 a month! HMMMMM.......makes you think! So do I want to live there????!!!!! Probably not, but very tempting. We would be RICH!!

Mama stuck

So here is Conner, this is how I found him. I was sitting at the computer and I heard, "Mama, hep (help) stuck. He had gotten under Covin's bed and they moved the toy box and he couldn't figure out how to get out. Of course I thought it was funny and went to get my camera! He didn't find that to amusing that I had left him! :)

I was trying to talk him into finding his own way out. It didn't work, I asked him to smile and this is what I got! I guess I deserved it after leaving him to get the camera! haha

This week...

It has been a weird week, nothing special going on. We have been working, going to school, doing homework and dealing with sick kids! Sick kids, no fun! Conner has Croup again! And Covin started with a fever last night! He is terrified of a tongue depressor so he won't tell me when he is sick. He doesn't like to go to the doctor because they use that stick thing. So I am not sure what to do with him, his fever last night was 103. Plus Shaffen is on day shift, Conner has been to the doctor 2 times this week so he freaks out when we enter the office. So that means I will have to take both of them. Not a good situation being out numbered by screaming kids!!!! This week has been long and non-productive! Messy house, whiny kids, and a busy life! And jealous that Shaffen got to go to work today! :) hahaha

My Conner

So this is Conner, everyday the kid makes us laugh histerically! He is a mess! Everyday he amazes me at how smart he is. The second kid learns things so much faster by watching the older one! Some things are good and others well you know!
Whenever Conner is looking for his shoes he always puts on someone elses! This time it was Covin's cleats for T-ball, not only did he put them on he had them on the wrong feet, it looked so funny! He thought he was pretty cool!

So this last week has been pretty funny. Everytime I would get Conner ready for the bath he would pee on the floor. So I tried to get smarter and told him he could pee in the shower, so once I got him in I said pee! And he did, three times in a row I did this and everytime he did. I just wanted to make sure he knew what he was doing. So I HATE potty trainer because of Covin he was such a nightmare! Well Conner likes sucker, so this week I would put him on the toilet before the bath, I would tell him to pee and he would tell me all done. But he didn't so I said no sucker. Well I finished bathing them and got Covin out and Conner said while peeing in the water Mommy sucker! It was hilarious!

So everyday he has been peeing on the toilet, but only when I ask him if he wants a sucker. He pees on demand! Yesterday he went 3 times. He is only 22 months old. I think Covin was 3. It is totally freaking me out that he is so little! Hopefully this won't be as crazy as Covin was!!!!

The Wall

I don't know how many of you have heard of The Wall, or have had the opportunity to visit it. They have a wall in Washington DC with the names of all the people who were killed. They made a traveling wall and it is here for this week. On Saturday it arrived and was escorted into town by 2,500 bikers. They led it to the Walmart parking lot where they had a program. We took the boys down there. They were also followed by one of our local Air Evac helicopters, it was neat to watch there were so many people.

Covin was excited he called it America Day, because there were flags everywhere!

A little tired and Hot.....
We went on Sunday where they had the wall set up.....It was a crazy reality. The wall starts out small and at the bottom there are the dates of when they were killed. At the beginning of the war there were few names, the further you walk there were hundreds killed in a week. It is so sad.
We took Rachel's kids with us, I had a lot of explaining to do for Carlee.

Shaffen's dad fought in the war, so I think this was a different experience for him. He told me that on one of the days his dad took a picture with one of his friends and the friend was killed that same day.
This display also has the names of the people who were killed in the Iraq' War and the names are very current. The last date I saw was for the 8th of March. But we have definitely come a long way. The people being killed are less and less every War. With Iraq' being the least. It is scary to think about all that has happened. But if the opportunity comes around definitely go and see it, it is very sad and many people who you know have stories and most of them don't like to talk about it. I can see why, over 58,000 people died.
