Covin's 6th birthday!

So I will have to play catch up! It has been a while and it will take a while. Most important is that my not so little boy just turned 6 on the 30th (yesterday)! I accidentally scheduled myself to work so we planned his party for Saturday. The day of his birthday I was supposed to be at work at 6 am so I made arrangements for me to go in at 7am. I was sad I wanted to see him that morning. So I got up and made him scrambled eggs, toast, and chocolate milk. I put a candle in his toast so he could blow it out! I thought it was a cool thing but I was wrong it was waaay to early for that bright of a light!!!!
So lucky for me Covin made his birthday this year somewhat easy on me. He wanted blue plates, blue napkins and a number 6 cake!!! So with the money we didn't spend on party supplies we took all the kids bowling! He wanted a new bike and that is what he got. He is so rough on bikes. Steven taught him how to ride a bike when he was 3 1/2 and he has been trashing them ever since.

Covin so happy with his new bike!!!

Papa Richard and Grandma Glenna!!

Carsen, Rylan, Covin, and Landen
All of these kids and most of their parents made time to come and celebrate Covin's big day....he was so excited.

Covin and his Number 6 cake. It looks way better in the picture. It was hard to see what it was supposed to be. We are so grateful for that everyone took the time to come and be with Covin for his birthday. It is crazy every year how many people care about my kids!

The morning of Covin's birthday I asked him if he felt like he was 6......he looked at me and said "Oh Ya!!!" He has been looking forward to his birthday for about 6 months now. He is such a good kid, I know we take that for granted. He cannot wait to grow up. He talks everyday about what he will be doing when he gets bigger. So far I he wants to be multiple things like: Cop, fireman, Doctor, drive race cars, fly airplanes, and be the guy that fixes stop lights when they break. He is always on light bulb patrol, if there is a light bulb out anywhere at anytime he is the first one to spot it. He is not one for germs, if you offer him a drink and you already drank out of it there is a definite no way that kid is taking a drink! He loves doing everything that his dad does. He LOVES shooting guns and going hunting (Shaffen is so happy about that)! He is a good helper when it is his own idea, he really likes helping put the silverware away out of the dishwasher. He like helping me cook and bake (when I do either of those things :)! He is the best big brother to Conner. They are hilarious to watch. His favorite food right now is Macaroni and Cheese. We had to keep asking him what he wanted for his birthday dinner because kept saying Mac and Cheese. Crazy kid! He is getting so big and is makes me sad. I cannot believe how much he has grown since he started school. Although he does good in school he can't wait to be done. I keep telling him that he has at least 15 more years of school.....I hope! :) I don't know what we would do without this kid. I am so happy he chose us to be his family!!!!

Thank you everyone who came and made his day great! We love you all!!!!

Winnie the Pooh??? That sick!!!!

So I should be getting in the shower but Conner is cracking me up! Just a few minutes ago he told me he wanted some yogurt. He brought me a spoon that had Winnie the Pooh on it.

He said, "Look Mama a bear spoon." (Conner has never seen Winnie the Pooh before, bad mom I know!)

Anyways, I say, "His name is Winnie the Pooh."

He says, "Pooh? That sick!" I started laughing.

Then after he finished I said, "Are you all done?"

He said, "Yes."

I asked him what the bears name was. He said, "Umm Bear, stinky bum bear!" I started dying laughing.

He said, "Mama, that not funny that sick!!!!"

You should have seen the look on his face!!! Who knew that Pooh would have such a different meaning to kids this generation! It was hilarious! He is such a crackup! I love that kid so much!!!!

Christmas is over!

I just wanted to add these today because I am not sure when or if I can get to this for a while. School for me starts Wednesday. I took a 2 day class this last weekend called Road trip to Nursing. It was not fun. 2 day filled with ways to deal with our stressful lives. Apparently we are going to be so stressed out and overwhelmed that I won't be able to cook, clean, do laundry, or spend time with my family and friends. Hmmm....then they kept saying things like you probably aren't going to pass your first test. But don't freak out because you will have 6 more that you will HAVE to pass or you will fail. You have to get an 80.0% or higher to pass the classes. If you get lower you get an F. There is just A, B or F. That is it. I do realize that it is going to be stressful but it was freaking us out in there. So if I don't see anyone for a while SORRY in advance. They said for every hour we spend in lecture we will have 3 hours of reading at home. We have lecture for 6 hours a week. Yeah I am not so sure about that one!!!! Hopefully I won't have to study so hard. Otherwise I may loose my husband and kids!!!!

So it has been a funny week. Shaffen FINALLY got his Christmas present (only 6 days late). Tuesday night (Dec. 30) we finally got the call at 9:00 pm. We ran over there to get it from my friends house.
These are my happy boys. Shaffen was grinning ear to ear. He pulled out his gun and the boys decided to get their shotguns that they got from Santa. It was quite funny.

Proud Daddy!!!!

Also this week we took down all of the Christmas decorations. I have NEVER seen a more happy kid than my Conner! He was so excited that Santa was not coming to his house anymore! Shaffen and I started taking down the tree and putting it into the box and Conner seriously started dancing, he had the HUGEST smile! He was singing, "Santa Claus not coming to town!" He is so excited he tells us everyday that, "Santa not coming." "Christmas is OVER!" He is such a crack up!
So I hope that my schooling doesn't make me a hermit! If it does I apologize in advance!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!!! Shaffen and I had an awesome day yesterday! We were able to go with some friends to the "Insight bowl." Kansas Vs. Minnesota! We had so much fun. I took my camera and left it in the truck. This picture is taken from Shaffen's cell phone. I am not sure what is on his face.
Grandma Bonnie came down and stayed with our kids Tuesday night. We were up and gone by 7:30 am. The guys dropped us off at the mall and went to their sporting goods stores. IT WAS GREAT!!! Got to eat at Texas Roadhouse, MY NEW FAVORITE restaurant! We walked Mill Ave. We enjoy people watching! HEHE!!!
The football game started at 4 pm. It was at the ASU stadium, the sun was in our faces for about an hour or so. After that it was great! We don't know the teams but had a blast. They had military people jumping out of planes and parachuting onto the field. Fireworks whenever anyone scored! The guys were very happy our seats were right behind the cheerleaders! There was a lot of fumbling of the girls doing stunts. No one was hurt though!!!! :) It was hilarious! Both teams had AWESOME marching bands. They both did their own renditions of "Thriller." It was pretty Cool!!
We called our house to check on the kids and they were perfect according to Grandma Bonnie. I don't think she would tell me if they were being bad anyways! Thank you for coming and watching our kids. We really enjoyed the break! They told me they had a lot of fun with you! Conner said Grandma gave me yummy food!
We hope everyone had a good New Years Eve and have a Happy New Year!
