Shaffen's HOME!!!

So it was a long week and Shaffen is finally home! He missed Covin's first football game he was able to play. I tried to get a little video for him. We cracked up at this one, he is blocking this kid and neither one would give up. They were in the middle of the field when everyone else had ran to score a touchdown. After a while Covin noticed that everyone else was gone and then took off running! It was funny. He was crying at the end of the game, I started to get mad because I couldn't understand why he would be crying. He finally told me that he didn't want to lose the game. I felt bad for him, but I was sorta relieved that he was crying because of that! After the game Nikki and the boys were headed to RV for Richie's race and Keenan's birthday. Nikki took Covin with her. I had mentioned going to RV to Covin earlier in the week and changed my mind towards the end. He had been so excited to go that I didn't want to disappoint him, so Nikki and Mandy took care of him for me. Thank you guys he had a blast!

But in the meantime Conner was very, very upset. He wanted to go with Nikki also. That little boy threw a fit for over an hour. When I put him in his car seat he kicked his shoes off, threw his socks at me and tried to throw his soda at me. He continued to pull at the straps and scream Ikki's house the whole way home. He usually gives up after a while, but this day didn't go that way. I videoed 4 times with my camera because I wanted Shaffen to see what I had been dealing with that week. He first went behind the black recliner and screamed then he started throwing the shoes and Covin's uniform towards me (not sure if it was at me). He kept making that annoying scream the whole time. The 3rd video he was screaming and I ended up turning it off because he was attacking my legs and feet! What a turkey, I couldn't help but laugh the whole time because it was so ridiculous!

Sorry about all of the videos they are short ones!

Conner Take 1

Crazy Conner Take 2

Still going Take 3

So while I was talking to Shaffen on the phone while he was in Utah he tells me, "I got the boys a present!" I said, "Oh yeah what did you get them?" He says all excited, "I got them harmonica's!" I said, not so excited, "Seriously??!!!!" He says, "Yes they will love them!" Me, "Yes, I know they will love them BUT I am sure I won't!"

Yes they do LOVE their harmonicas! Not surprised! They are hilarious, but annoying! Covin comes home everyday asking if he can play his instrument! It is quite funny to listen to them. Shaffen put Piano man on the computer so Covin could hear the harmonica in the song. He was actually trying to play the song. They are funny. Conner walks around all day asking for his Birthday present, just the harmonica (present), I am not sure where the Birthday part came from!

So we are very excited to have Shaffen back home. I don't think the boys will allow him to leave again. Conner woke up almost every night crying and asking where his daddy go? I felt bad for them. When he went to work on Monday morning Conner was crying for him again. He does not do good with change. It was definitely a long week, but we all survived! :)

Covin is doing fine, he is back to normal. We are very glad that he is feeling better. There really wasn't an explanation for everything. We just hope it doesn't come back! The only thing he talks about now, is how he had 6 pokes from the hospital and that is not nice!!!

Yesterday Shaffen called me at work and told me that there were 3 instructors from his school that got into a shooting on Saturday in Utah. The school ended Friday evening and they all traveled home on Saturday. Shaffen and the guys that were with him went to IHOP before they endured the drive home. These 3 instructor went to a IHOP in the opposite direction. While they were in the parking lot they saw a man stabbing another man in the neck with scissors. The officer drew his gun told the man to stop. He did not and continued to stab the man, and the officer shot him 2 times. How creepy is that!!!! http://www.ksl.com/?nid=148&sid=4253806

There were a few news stations that did the story. It is very interesting! FREAKY!

I am very glad it wasn't my husband in the situation, but I know that it could happen anywhere! He could definitely get the job done. I just don't want all of the aftermath! Scary thought!

Our long awful weekend!!!

On Friday morning about 4:50 am Covin came in our room crying telling me his belly hurt. He told me he thought he was really hungry. He sometimes gets nauseated when he does eat sometimes. Anyways, Shaffen was going to be getting up at 5 am for work so he just took Covin into the kitchen to him a banana. I laid in be still then I heard him trying to throw up. So I jumped up and went into where they were. He was standing next to the sink and crying. I gave him the banana and had him sit down. He then told me that his legs hurt really bad. I felt his head he was a little warm it was 99.9. I decided to give him Motrin for the leg pain. Anyways I had him go to the bathroom, thinking maybe that is why his stomach hurt. He went and didn't feel any better AND he wouldn't walk. When he did walk he limped. So I had him lay down with me. Around 6 he wanted to go to the bathroom again so I carried him in there. Then Conner got up and everyone stayed up. I took them both into the living room to watch TV. Covin laid down and pulled his legs up into his belly. I went back into my room to text Shaffen when I heard Covin puking into the sink. I ran in there cleaned him up and decided to call the on call doctor. I was scared he might have appendicitis. Around 7:15 the doc called me and I explained everything to him and he told me to take him to the ER. I showered really fast and called Rachel to see if she would watch Conner. I got Covin up and carried him to change his clothes he refused to leave the house until he showered. After 2 hours of Motrin his legs still hurt. In the tub he wouldn't stand or let me wash his belly. He said his legs didn't hurt if he kept them up. Only hurt when they were straight. We went to the ER at about 8:15 am and they wanted to do xrays and blood work before they did a cat scan. After a few hours they came in and told me they wanted to do the cat scan because he had a high white count (which means infection). Around noon they brought him in contrast to drink for the cat scan. After 2 hours we went and got it done. They didn't have a radiologist to read it so they had to tele-fax it to Tucson for them to read. About 4 they got the results and it said that they were unable to visualize the appendix......very frustrating!!! But not anyones fault. In the mean time they had talked to the surgeon to give him a heads up that Covin might have appendicitis. The doctor came in and told me that something is wrong with him and they aren't sure if it is his appendix and that I could take him home and watch him. They decided to give him an antibiotic because he did have an infection somewhere. After all that was done the Surgeon called me on my cell phone and told me what to watch for at home and if anything happens to call him on his cell phone and he will meet me at the hospital. I felt good about that. In the mean time they had called the Surgeon and told him that they had gave him some antibiotics. Well it wasn't what he wanted him to have so he came down to the hospital and told me that Covin had to stay for at least a day so they could closely watch him. He explained that because they gave him that certain antibiotic that it could take away his inflammation of the appendix, if he had any, and they wouldn't be able to tell if it is appendicitis because it will make his white count come down and make him feel better. The antibiotics will last for 36 hours and they needed to watch. If they wear off and he did have appendicitis that he would be in trouble. So they wouldn't let us go home!

After 4 IV attempts and 2 more blood draws, Covin was telling everyone that he got 6 pokes! Poor kid I felt so bad for him. We missed the Safford vs. Thatcher Football game, he missed his first Flag Football game (which his team won :) ) I finally got a smile out of him because I got him 2 more webkins! I actually really enjoyed spending all of that alone time with him he is such a crack up! After 12 hours in the ER they finally got him into a room!
Shaffen stayed with him at night.....not sure if he really wanted to or he didn't want to deal with Conner being up all night like usual! :) And to top it all off Shaffen has been scheduled for training in Utah for months now and had to leave Sunday morning for a week! We were so frustrated and nervous I think I broke down and lost it at least 5 times! Shaffen was leaving me with not knowing about Covin having appendicitis or not. He felt so bad leaving us, but we didn't know what else to do! To make a long story short, we were able to go home Sunday at noon! This kid acts just fine. There is a ton I left out but I have to get ready for school!

Thank you everyone who has helped me with Conner! I am not really sure what I would have done without your help!

AND Conner the day I drove Covin home from the hospital I took him out of his car seat and he felt warm! Yeah 102.3 temp!!!! AAAAHHHHH! Seriously what else could go wrong.....I know I know plenty! This crazy kid has hurt his eye 3 times in 1 week! This is his last episode of hitting his head on his bed! Good thing he is tough!

We are trying to get back to normal, Covin went back to school Monday and feels fine now. Not really sure what he had but it was scary! I am glad that it is over with!!!! And I know Covin is too!

Our week!

So here is an update of our week! Friday I finally signed myself up to take the NET test (nursing entrance test) I have been stressing about if for almost a year! I told Shaffen I would take it now because I will still have 1 more opportunity to take it again (if I failed) before I applied for the program in October. I was very freaked out because I know of people who didn't pass the first time and I know someone who has failed it multiple times. Anyways, I was scared to take the math portion because it has been 7 years since I have had any math. I printed out a practice test did the ones I could which was 37 out of 60. Thankfully we have a very smart brother-in-law (Steven) who helped me and taught me how to do the rest. So I am proud to say that I got 100% on my math and was able to pass the entire exam with an 850 score (superior). And my over all scoring was high enough to not have to take it again!!!!!! :) Very exciting, I didn't realize how much stress I was under with this! It has made a huge difference getting it over with!
Also this week Shaffen has switched his shift to day shift. It has been a long time and so far I love it! I don't stress about Conner being to noisy for him to sleep. He has been home with us at night time which the boys LOVE! And Conner has been sleeping throughout the night for the most part. BUT he still gets up at about 6:30am, which is easier to handle because I am not up all night with him!
He is such a mess.....looks so innocent!
But he is so stinking cute and so fun. He doesn't really like being home with us while Covin is in school, but he is tolerating us! We feel so sorry for him because he doesn't know what to do without his brother! Just when I think things are getting better with him sleeping, Shaffen is leaving us Sunday for an entire week! He has training in Utah for 7 days. I am more bummed because Conner is just getting used to everything and then we are changing it up AGAIN! Poor kid! They love their dad like crazy and it will be a hard week for them! AND ME YIKES!!! :)

Another funny thing, now that Shaffen is working during the day he asked Covin if he could come and eat lunch with him at school. Covin was so excited and so we sent a note and asked the teacher if that would be ok....She said yes. So when Covin told me I said then dad can come when he is working. He said, "No, I just want him to wear his regular clothes." I said that he couldn't because he would be working and if you want him in regular clothes then he couldn't come for 2 week because he was going to be gone. Anyways, he tells me that if he comes in his cop clothes all of the kids will think he is going to take them to jail. I died laughing! I didn't know what to say besides dad won't take them to jail. I don't know how we changed his mind, he told me before he left for the bus that he wanted his dad to come to eat with him. I explained again that he would be in his work clothes and he said I know I still want him to come! So I not sure how it will go. Just thought that was funny!

Also this weekend Covin and the boys will have their very first Flag Football game! This should be interesting to watch. They have been practicing almost 3 days a week for a month. They now have to have mouth pieces and football pants (blue ones) which we were informed of yesterday and they have to have them Saturday. NICE!!!! There aren't any so far I will have to go to a few different stores today!!

Crazy busy week and the next one will not be any easier!!!
